Hexagons. Challenge Classic: Use hexagonal binning (hexbins) or a hexagonal grid system to visualize your data. Celebrate this beautiful and efficient tessellation!

Phonetic Geography of Ukraine Sound patterns in settlement names Back vowels (37.5%) + Sonorants (34.5%) = 72% dominant — this means Ukrainian toponyms have a “soft,” “flowing” acoustic landscape. Not harsh, not aggressive sounds.

Голосні задні (37.5%) + Сонорні (34.5%) = 72% домінують — це означає, що українські топоніми мають “м’який”, “плавний” звуковий ландшафт. Не різкі, не агресивні звуки.

Взяв всі назви українських поселень та територій (~42 тисячі), порахував які звуки в них найчастіші (шиплячі, свистячі, сонорні тощо), поділив Україну на шестикутники по 20 км і підрахував домінуючі звуки в кожному регіоні. Вийшла фонетична мапа України.
